Objectives:
*To find out  the difficulties  experienced by HSS teachers  in implementing CCE in English classrooms.
Findings:
*Difficulties are experienced while implementing Interactive and creative activities.
*Difficulties are experienced while conducting Class Test.
*The success of any system depends on the person who practices it. The success of CCE lies in the hands of the teacher.     
                                                     
2.Effectiveness of Synectic Model in enhancing the writing skill of English among secondary school students by Julie V.

Objectives:
*To find out the effectiveness of Synectic Model over activity-based method.
*To prepare lesson transcripts based on Synectic Model for classroom transaction that enables secondary school students to enhance writing skill.
Findings:
*The Synectic Model of teaching was found to be effective in enhancing writing skill of Standard VIII students in English  as compared to the activity method of teaching.
*The study also showed that there is significant difference in promoting  the components  of creativity in Synectic Model of Teaching compared to activity method.

3.A critical analysis of the new English Course Book of Class X in Tamil nadu  by G.Ramesh

Objectives:
1.To analyze  critically  the English Course Book of Standard X with regard to the following aspects: Theme, Content, Subject matter, Pictures/illustrations, Oral work, Opportunity for work, Vocabulary and structures, Language, Style, Reading material, Cultural content and Technical features.
2. To collect opinions of teachers of English regarding the Course Book.
Findings:
The opinions given by the teachers  more or less tallied with the  following findings:
* There is variety in presentation of theme of the  Course Book .
* The reading material is appealing and appropriate for the level of the learners.
*The subject matter  of lessons have a practical utility and is related to the student’s environment.
*The lessons have colourful pictures  which help convey the meaning.
*Activities for speaking, role play etc. are included.
*Activities  for enriching of vocabulary is available. Though a glossary is included, the use of a dictionary may become essential.
*The language used is appropriate to the level of the pupils and is likely to help develop the four language skills.
*Grammar items are introduced in lessons but  can be learned only if they are properly taught.
*Cultural elements too have been sufficiently addressed.
*The size of the Course Book is such that it is easy to handle. The quality of paper used  is good.

4.Effectiveness of animation techniques in enhancing achievement in English with special reference to tense forms among High School students  by Prasad John

Objectives:
1.To prepare CAI model of animated cartoons for teaching English in Standard IX.
2.To determine the comparative effectiveness of animated cartoons on achievement in English tense forms with respect to Knowledge, Comprehension and Application.
3.To compare the effectiveness of animated cartoons over the activity   method.
Findings:
*Using animated cartoons were found to be effective.
*Students could make use of language elements with great proficiency when they were exposed  to animated cartoons.
*Animated cartoons provide variety and motivated pupils.
*CAI model of animated cartoons were found to be more effective than activity  method.

5.Influence of Peer Group in enhancing spelling ability among secondary school students by Bindu CK.

Objectives:
*To study the difficulties faced by teachers in teaching English in the area of  vocabulary acquisition; comprehension; communication; activities; facilities; subject knowledge in Tamil nadu.
Findings:
*The ability of students with regard to spelling deterred teachers from making use of vocabulary games.
* Though the comprehension levels of the pupils were low with regard to English, most teachers were successful  in creating an appropriate atmosphere for learning.
*A majority of teachers lacked fluency and this affected their developing communication skill of the students.
*Many teachers did not know how to make the class interesting and language learning an enjoyable experience.
*Inadequate library facility, lack of training in using ICT affected  teaching.
*Most teachers did not have English as their subject of specialization and this affected their performance too.

*  The learning package is sufficient for fulfilling the curricular objectives of the content,  is practicable in normal classroom and is  suitable for improving vocabulary acquisition.

* The package is effective in improving vocabulary among secondary school students.


10. Effectiveness of Computer Assisted Instructional Package for Enhancing Problem Solving Skill in Commerce at Higher Secondary Level  by Beena Thomas

12. Parenting Style and Emotional Intelligence as Correlates of Achievement in English of Higher Secondary School Students  by Priya U.V.

Objectives:
*To find out the different parenting styles (Authoritarian, Permissive and Authoritative) among the parents of Higher Secondary School students for the total sample based on gender.

*To study the relationship between Authoritarian parenting style and Achievement in English of Higher Secondary School Students for the total sample based on gender

Findings:   
* Authoritative parenting style had a positive and significant influence an academic achievement among higher secondary school students. Those students who had parent with authoritative style were more successful in school, there by promoting school achievement.

* There is no significant relationship between authoritarian parenting style and achievement in English for the total sample and sub sample based on gender.

13. Effectiveness of Guided Inductive Inquiry Model in Enhancing Critical Thinking Among Higher Secondary School Students by  Sreekutty BS

Findings:
* Guided Inductive Inquiry Model is effective in teaching Economics at higher secondary level for enhancing critical thinking.

Findings:

An  intensive study of the  speeches  helped identify seven areas on which the  ideas related to education could be classified. These include:
Aims of education, Curriculum, Educational institutions, Teachers and teaching; Learners; Role of parents and Growth of the nation.
The study  helped identify several  aspects which  if  considered and addressed   properly  can  enrich the  existing educational system in India.

15.  Development of Critical Thinking  Among Secondary School Students: Analysis of Standard XI Course Book in English With Special  Reference to Dr.Richard Paul’s ‘Wheel of Reason’ by  Amritha Anand

*To gain a deeper understanding of the elements of Dr.Richard Paul’s Reasoning Model
*To analyze the English Course Book of Standard XI focussing on developing Critical Thinking by applying Dr. Richard Paul’s ‘Wheel of Reason’.
*To prepare Lesson Transcripts based on Dr.Richard  Paul’s ‘Wheel of Reason’.
Findings:

*Though the Elements of Thought in the ‘Wheel of  Reason’ was applied thither to in the US context, the study has found that it is possible to integrate  tasks based on the ‘Wheel of Reason’ to the content of the Standard XI English Course Book prescribed for study in Kerala.

16. Effectiveness of Integrating Communication Skills and Kinesthetic Intelligence on Achievement in English at Higher Secondary Level by  Aiswarya BS.

Findings:

*When the Post test achievement scores of Experimental group (MI) and Control group were compared, the Post test scores is found to be superior than that of the Pre test scores.
*Kinesthetic  intelligence tasks are effective  in developing achievement  at the Higher secondary level.
*Kinesthetic intelligence tasks are more interesting than traditional tasks and this makes  the learning process enjoyable.

17. Effectiveness of Collaborative Learning Approach Using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp  on Achievement in Educational Psychology Among Student Teachers  at Secondary Level by  Arantxa KG.

*To test the effectiveness of collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp on achievement in Educational Psychology among student teachers at secondary level.

*To prepare lesson transcripts based on collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp for instruction in Educational Psychology among student teachers at secondary level.

*To compare the effectiveness of collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp for enhancing achievement in Educational Psychology among student teachers at secondary level with respect to student teachers who have chosen different optional subjects under Arts and Science groups.

Findings:

*The preparation and testing of collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp on ‘Memory’ lead to  the result   of enhancement of achievement in Educational Psychology among student teachers  at Secondary level.
*Students who  learned through collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp exhibited better performance in achieving mastery in learning. The collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp was more effective than the Traditional method.
*The collaborative learning approach using Facebook, YouTube and Whatsapp is equally effective for Arts  and Science group.

1. To find out the prospects of the teaching strategies employed as part of HELLO ENGLISH progrmamme.

2. To find out the problems of the teaching strategies employed as part of HELLO ENGLISH programme.
3. To draw out impressions of teachers with regard to introduction of the HELLO ENGLISH programme.

Findings:

*Teachers use different strategies like storytelling, skits, role play and miming, HELLO ENGLISH teachers are capable of changing strategies and adopting appropriate ones for providing practice.

*TPR connects all language elements so that the children who have talent in Arts and games get more nourished, besides achieving many other aspects.
HELLO ENGLISH programme helped practicing teachers to overcome the limitations as an English teacher.

*HELLO ENGLISH programme established a triangular relationship between student, teacher and parents. Parents get more satisfaction from government and aided schools.

19. A Study of Educational Values Reflected in The Hindi Course Book of Standard IX by  Kavitha Thankachan

Findings:

*The content of the Course Book in Hindi of Standard IX is rich with values namely Social, Cultural, Spiritual, Intellectual, Moral, Religious, Economic and Aesthetic values.

* All the values are seen reflected in the all content of Hindi Course Book in varying degrees.

20. Effectiveness of Synectics Model in Enhancing Achievement in Hindi Among Standard IX Students by  Medona Ignesious

*To prepare lesson transcripts based on Synectics model for helping Standard IX students to develop creative thinking.

*To find out the effectiveness of Synectics model over Activity based method.

*To determine the post-test achievement scores of boys and girls in Synectics model group.

Findings:

*The analysis of the pre-test and post-test achievement scores in Hindi for students who were taught through Synectics Model and Activity Method showed that there is significant difference between the two groups
*Instruction given using the Synectics Model is superior to the instruction given using the Activity Method in the achievement of Hindi

21.  The Effectiveness of Electronic Learning Integrated Strategy on Achievement in Hindi Among Students at Secondary School Level by

Objectives:

*To find out the effectiveness of integrating Electronic learning materials in learning Hindi among Standard IX students in terms of  Pre-test scores and Post-test scores
*To compare the effectiveness of E-learning in achievement among boys and girls students in learning Hindi.

Findings:

*Students taught by E-learning integrated method performed better than those taught through traditional method.
* When  the mean scores of the post-test of boys and girls of the experimental group and control groups were compared, it is found that there is no significant difference between the scores.
*E-Learning has apparent advantages but  there are certain drawbacks in the effective delivery of content owing to lack of proper technological support.

22.   Teaching Strategies Employed By Teachers in Select Movies: A Study Among Students at Higher Secondary Level by   Neetha VT.

Objectives:

1. To identify the unorthodox teaching strategies employed by the teachers in select films.

2. To find out the impression of students regarding the unorthodox teaching strategies employed by teachers in select films.

3. To find out the impression of students regarding the unorthodox teaching strategies employed by teachers in select films with respect to locale.

4. To find out the most preferred strategies adopted by Higher Secondary School teachers.

Findings:

*On analysis  of the films , several  unorthodox  teaching strategies were found such as the Apple Method, Finger Method.

*84% of the students  favoured the  unorthodox teaching strategies employed by the teachers while a few students  found the strategies inadequate.

* 81% of the students in rural area and 14.4% of students in the urban area are of the opinion that the strategies used by the teachers in films are inadequate.

* The teachers aspire to move away from the traditional methods in teaching. But they find the vastness of the curriculum and paucity of time available a great hindrance.


23.Effectiveness of Dialectical Method of Dashopanishad on Achievement in Sanskrit at UG Level  by    Jayendra Dev

Objectives:

1. To find out whether there is any significant difference in the pre-test mean score of achievement in Sanskrit in the experimental and control group
2. To find out whether there is any significant difference in the mean pre and post test scores of achievement in Sanskrit of the experimental group.
3. To find out the effectiveness of Dialectical method in Sanskrit of first year BA degree students.

Findings:

*The post-test scores of experimental and control groups greatly differ from each other. The experimental group scored high in the post-test when compared to that of the control group.
* Learning and teaching process through Dialectical Method is more effective and livelier than the prevailing method of teaching Sanskrit.

24. A Study on Educational Problems of Endosulfan Stricken Communities in Muthalamada Panchayath  by    Soumya  C.

Findings:
*No special assistance was provided for  the ailments and problems of women and children.
*An NGO, provided some assistance.
*The villagers needed both financial assistance and  emotional support.

25. Integrated Child Development Schemes for Adolescent Girls in Thekkumkara Panchayath by  Radhika TR.

Objectives:
*To study the availability of ICDS schemes and services to adolescent girls in Thekkumkara Panchayath.
*To find out whether there is any change in the nutritional and health status of adolescent girls.
*To find out whether the health awareness class were beneficial to the adolescent girls.
Findings:
*Many  adolescent girls have a knowledge about  various schemes of ICDS and they also get  a chance to participate in various programmes.
*Measures taken are not effective enough to bring  about change in the nutritional and health status of adolescent girls.
*The  adolescent girls were aware of  health issues and the ICDS programmes were beneficial.

26. Perception of Art in Relation to Academic Achievement Among Teacher Trainees Under Calicut University  by    Julin John

*There is significant difference in perception in art in relation to type of management.

27. Development of Digital Learning Materials For Fostering Descriptive Writing Skill in the English Classroom at the Upper Primary Level by Amaljith S.

*To find out the difference in the performance between boys and girls when taught using the digital learning  materials for fostering descriptive writing skill in the English classroom at the upper primary level.

Findings:
*A comparison of Pre-test Scores of Experimental and Control Group showed that the performance of experimental and control groups on the pre test were similar.

* The findings revealed that there exists a significance difference in the effect of teaching with digital leaning materials over the existing method of teaching.

28. Analysis of Higher Secondary Course Book in English With Special Reference to 21st Century Skills  by Jayalakshmi KS.

*To gain a deeper understanding of 21st century skills.
*To analyze the English Course Bookof Standard XI with special reference to Creative thinking, Critical thinking and Problem solving.

Findings:
*The analysis of the tasks in Course Book in Higher Secondary English Course Book of State Syllabus revealed that 92% of the tasks have the components of 21st century skills which are integrated for transacting the Units.

29. Development of Instructional Materials in Business English for Students of Commerce at Higher Secondary Level by Jini KO.

Objectives:
*To prepare business related content for teaching English for students of Commerce at the Higher Secondary level.

*To prepare lesson transcripts for the prepared content for study at the Higher Secondary level for developing competence in Business English. These lesson transcripts show the method of transacting the prescribed lessons of Business English.

Findings:
*An analysis of English Course Book of student of Commerce at the Higher Secondary level by the investigator revealed that the text mainly focuses on the development of literary and communicative competence of the learner.

30. Critical Analysis of Writing Skill in English Using State Level Test and Standardized Test Among Secondary School Students  by  Kala Krishnan.

 Objectives:

* To analyze writing skill in English of secondary school students critically, using state level and standardized tests.

*To check for the existence of  any common pattern in writings of secondary school students.

*To find out whether the scores obtained in tests truly indicate the actual writing skill of learners.

*To identify the proficiency level of secondary school students in writing using standardized tests based on CEFR norms.

  Findings:

* The overall analysis of the students’ writing in answer scripts showed that students have a very limited active vocabulary.

*. It was found that the scores obtained in tests did not truly indicate the actual writing skill of learners.

*Analysis of the standardized test inferred that only 9 % of students showed B1 proficiency level in accordance to CEFR norms.

*Malayalam films with theme related to education can inspire students to learn better and participate in both curricular and co-curricular activities.

* The present study underscores the fact that several changes have happened in schools through on influence of Malayalam films which is related to education.

*Analyze the English language used in New Generation Malayalam Films.

*Identify how the language used in New Generation Malayalam Films helps ESL learners in second language acquisition.

 Findings:

*An  analysis of the data from the select New Generation Malayalam films revealed that they have several  language elements and language functions useful for Second Language acquisition.

*The  English language used in New Generation Malayalam films  help acquire language used in different situations.

*The dialogues in English in New Generation Malayalam films can help in Second Language acquisition.
